2017年8月，全国共生产粗钢7459.37万吨、生铁6260.78万吨、钢材9676.34万吨，其中纳入中国钢铁工业协会月报统计的重点钢铁企业共生产粗钢5825.4万吨、生铁5438.86万吨、钢材5588.45万吨，分别占全国粗钢产量的78.10%、占全国生铁产量的86.87%、占全国钢材产量的57.75%。 8月份，全国粗钢产量比去年同期增加587.57万吨、增长8.71%，粗钢日产水平为

8月份，全国粗钢产量比去年同期增加587.57万吨、增长8.71%，粗钢日产水平为240.62万吨/日；1-8月份累计生产粗钢56640.45万吨，比去年同期增加3012.52万吨、增长5.62%，粗钢累计日产水平为233.09万吨/日。重点钢铁企业粗钢产量比去年同期增加513.62吨、增长9.67%,粗钢日产水平为187.92万吨/日；1-8月份累计生产粗钢43787.98万吨，比去年同期增加3254.6万吨、增长8.03%，粗钢累计日产水平为180.2万吨。
8月份，全国生铁产量比去年同期增加227.24万吨、增长3.77%，生铁日产水平为201.96万吨/日；1-8月份累计生产生铁48670.45万吨，比去年同期增加1669.51万吨、增长3.55%，生铁累计日产水平为200.29万吨/日。重点钢铁企业生铁产量比去年同期增加216.23万吨、增长4.14%，生铁日产水平为175.45万吨/日；1-8月份累计生产生铁41721.88万吨，比去年同期增加1764.19万吨、增长4.42%，生铁累计日产水平为171.69万吨/日。
8月份，全国钢材产量比去年同期增加52.57万吨、增长0.55%，钢材日产水平为312.14万吨/日；1-8月份累计生产钢材74517.83万吨，比去年同期增加878.87万吨、增长1.19%，钢材累计日产水平为306.66万吨/日。重点钢铁企业钢材产量比去年同期增加453.45万吨、增长8.2%，钢材日产水平为180.27万吨/日；1-8月份累计生产钢材42026.29万吨，比去年同期增加2827.28万吨、增长7.21%，钢材累计日产水平为172.95万吨/日。
